| Access ThunderWorx through WAP | |
ThunderWAPThunderWorx gives you the chance to have access to our services where ever you are.
What should you know before you get started:
When you buy a WAP phone, it will probably be configured by an operator for immediate use. Therefore the first thing you should do is to find "Services" or "Internet" on the menu.
When you enter this category, one of the next options is Home. If your phone is set up, entering Home should take you to an operators home page. If this does not work, you need to set up your phone by yourself.
When you are on WAP, you use a dial-up number that takes you through a server, and go through an IP address that takes you through a gateway. These belong to the operator. The phone providers do not really care how you access WAP. The reason that the phone is set up for a certain gateway when you buy it is that the phone providers usually have agreements with operators.
You should change your set up?
There main reason why you should to set up the phone by yourself is usually one of the following: Either it is not set up when you buy it, or it is set up using the server of another operator than yours. Using your provider's server will of course save you some money.
You may also want to change home page if you do not like the one you have. Most operators let you use any site as your home page. You could choose "http://wap.com", for instance.
The set-up of a WAP phone will vary, depending on which phone you have, but in order to follow the instructions on how to set up your phone, you first need to get the following information from your operator:
Bearer(Data or SMS) Dial-up number User name(if required) Password(if required) Data call type(analogue or ISDN) Supported call speeds Connection type(Continuous or temporary) Security(on/off) Authentication(normal or secure) IP address Gateway user name(usually not required) Gateway password(usually not required) WAP home page(You could choose "http://wap.com" if you want)
